While we now have seen just a few snapshots of Scream and X star Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams within the upcoming Netflix sequence, Wednesday, we now have but to see something of the remainder of The Addams Family. Well, that has now modified because of Vanity Fair, which has unveiled a number of pictures from the sequence. Images that show-off Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, and Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams. You can take a look at this newest have a look at Wednesday under.

Wednesday has been described as a coming-of-age supernatural thriller comedy, and will focus on beloved member of The Addams Family, Wednesday Addams, exploring her years as a highschool scholar at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday makes an attempt to grasp her psychic powers, cease a monstrous killing spree of the city residents, and clear up the supernatural thriller that affected her household 25 years in the past—all whereas navigating her new relationships.

Wednesday comes from Smallville creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, with filmmaking icon Tim Burton on board as a director and government producer. Clearly, The Addams Family-meet-Tim-Burton is a match made in gothic heaven.

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán will star as Wednesday’s dad and mom Morticia and Gomez respectively, and now, Alfred Gough and Mark Millar have defined how Burton’s influence will differentiate the characters from previous live-action iterations in addition to how Wednesday suits into The Addams Family franchise.

“He wished the silhouette to look extra just like the Charles Addams cartoons, which is Gomez shorter than Morticia, versus the sort of suave Raul Julia model within the motion pictures,” Gough says.

“He’s also incredibly debonair and romantic, and I think he has all those classic ingredients of the Gomez that we’ve seen come before, but he brings something also very different,” Millar added. “That’s something that was very important to the show—that it didn’t feel like a remake or a reboot. It’s something that lives within the Venn diagram of what happened before, but it’s its own thing. It’s not trying to be the movies or the ’60s TV show. That was very important to us and very important to Tim.”

The Addams Family Star Christina Ricci Has Praised Jenna Ortega’s Central Performance

Christina Ricci, who so efficiently introduced the character of Wednesday Addams to life again in 1991’s The Addams Family, will star in Wednesday and has since praised the vision of Tim Burton and Jenna Ortega’s central performance.

“It’s super fun. I loved working with Tim [Burton],” Ricci started. “I worked with Gwendolyn Christie, it was amazing. And Jenna is incredible. I saw some of the wardrobe photos before I went [to set] so I knew [what she looked like in character] and I was like, it’s such a great modern take on Wednesday. It’s so true tonally to the heart and soul of [the original], but then it’s incredibly modern and it’s great.”

Starring Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams, George Burcea as Lurch, and Victor Dorobantu as Thing (Uncle Fester’s whereabouts are at present a thriller) alongside Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Hunter Doohan, Georgie Farmer, Gwendoline Christie, and Christina Ricci, amongst others, Wednesday is about to premiere on Netflix later this yr. Expect a Halloween release.
