Yūki Konno launched manga adaptation of anime in November 2019

Shonen Jump+ editor Junichi Tamada revealed on their Twitter account on Saturday that Yūki Konno’s manga adaptation of Studio Trigger‘s SSSS.GRIDMAN anime will finish in two chapters.

Konno launched the manga on Shueisha‘s Shonen Jump+ web site in November 2019. Shueisha revealed the manga’s fifth compiled e-book quantity on September 3, and can publish the sixth quantity on January 4.

The 12-episode SSSS.Gridman anime premiered in October 2018. The anime was a collaboration between the anime studio Trigger and Tsuburaya Productions — the creator of the Ultraman franchise and the unique 1993-1994 live-action tokusatsu (special-effects) sequence Denkō Chōjin Gridman. Crunchyroll and Funimation streamed the anime because it aired, and Funimation additionally streamed an English dub for the anime.

The anime has since inspired a stage play adaptation, a number of manga spinoffs, and a novel spinoff. The stage play was slated for spring 2020 however was canceled because of the new coronavirus illness (COVID-19) pandemic.

The SSSS.Dynazenon anime premiered on April 2. Funimation streamed the anime because it aired in Japan. The anime is listed as being a part of the “Gridman Universe.”

Tsuburaya Productions and Trigger are planning a brand new venture within the “Gridman Universe” that they’ll reveal this winter.
