You’d in all probability do a double take if informed that Pratik Gandhi performs Jackie Shroff’s grandfather in a movie.

Gandhi did, too, when he heard the one-line idea of `Atithi Bhooto Bhava`, his newest release. The comedy’s premise — it tells the story of Gandhi’s character Srikant’s misadventures after he bumps right into a ghost, who claims to be his grandson from his previous life — had him hook, line and sinker. “I used to be bought when the makers informed me that Jackie sir will play my grandson,” laughs the actor. For him, the icing on the cake was reuniting with the senior actor after their 2018 Gujarati movie, Ventilator. “It was nice to fulfill Jackie sir once more. He is a gem of an individual. [He is] candy, and funky to speak to.”

The actor, who shot to pan-India fame after his stellar efficiency in `Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story` (2020), needs to decide on tasks correctly as he takes child steps in Hindi cinema. Hardik Gajjar’s directorial enterprise was a straightforward option to make, courtesy its hilarious script. Gandhi says he follows a easy mantra, when approaching a comedy. “Less is extra; that’s my guru mantra. I consider you need to know when to cease, be it in comedy or some other style.” The actor, who performs a Maharashtrian character within the ZEE5 film, needed to brush up on the language. “Marathi is my character’s first language. His reactions wanted to have that fluency, and I strived to realize that. This will assist me in my subsequent, Phule and Agni.”
